I get it 100%, I’ve totally been there…BUT have you ever wondered if the makeup you’re using is “good” or “bad” for your skin?
Have you ever actually taken a moment to read the ingredients on the back of your makeup and learn what’s actually in these products you’re using everyday? If you haven’t, YOU NEED TO!
I’m a huge proponent of “healthy makeup”. It is very much possible to have beautiful makeup that is also healthy for your skin…but it does require learning & having a willingness to push yourself outside of your comfort zone with new makeup options and methods.
NOW, there are a lot of ingredients on the market that are used in makeup brands you see in most retail giants and even your go-to beauty specific retail giants that are not necessarily “GOOD” for you.
So, here’s a great starting point, if you ever want to know if your makeup is healthy or good for your skin QUICKLY…download the EWG Skin Deep app and scan the products barcode. From there, the app runs your product through 60 toxicity and regulatory databases and shares with you pertinent information that SHOULD help you be a more informed consumer.
We hope this helps…and please take a moment to download the EWG Skin Deep App (NOT SPONSORED). It’s just a great tool…and it’s free to download.
]]>First off, this may shock you…but STOP looking at Google & STOP running to the store for your vitamins that you THINK you need.
The first rule of thumb is understanding what a supplements purpose is. As it sounds, a supplement is meant to fill in the gaps in your diet so that your body receives enough of the vitamins and minerals that your body needs on a daily basis to maintain your health and wellness.
Now, I believe we all have an idea as to what we probably should stop eating, but we don’t all know exactly what minerals and vitamins we may be lacking…that’s where a professional comes in.
So, in order to determine what supplements your body needs or doesn’t need, you need to first seek out a vitamin and nutrition blood test. These tests are amazing because they tell you what vitamins your getting enough of through natural sources and what vitamins your lacking in what amounts.
So, our advice, PLEASE get a vitamin deficiency and nutrition blood test if you can. It’s one of the best possible things you can do for your health and your skin.
]]>Phones are incredibly filthy, and the prolonged use of cell phones can transfer bacteria, dirt, and oil to your skin and leave you with clogged pores and cause breakouts.
We all use cellphones, so the only resolution to limiting the contact with your face is to:
1.) Clean your phone regularly with alcohol wipes, or an anti-bacterial wipe or spray.
2.) Wash your hands before and after use of your phone as well as your face everyday.
3.) Maybe limit the contact with your phone and take calls via Bluetooth or on speaker phone.
]]>Peachy Girl was my (founder & visionary) childhood nickname growing up. The nickname always stuck with me, and when starting the journey of creating my first business, my mind was constantly flooded with happy memories from my childhood.
I named my company Peachy Girl Pimple Patches to pay homage to my childhood and all the wonderful memories of where my life began, but also, to remind myself of where my love for beauty & skincare started.
I remember very vividly (as does my entire family) sitting in my childhood bedroom everyday & obsessing over all things beauty related. With frequency, I would get into my moms skincare and my dads cooling gel cream he used to rub on his face...and would just stand in front of my mirrored closet in my bedroom and slather it on. My mother has tons of photos of me growing up doing my sisters hair, putting makeup on them, obsessing over my skin, etc...and nothing has really changed to this day. Beauty & healthy skin are truly my passion!
My hope is that you get a sense of just how much love, detail, and time I’ve invested in creating this business and it’s products. That’s what I truly want you to feel when you shop with me.
When you shop with me, you officially become apart of the Peachy Girl Gang. We are skincare & beauty junkies on a quest to finding solutions (and hopefully one day a cure) to those pesky pimples.
All My Love,
The Original Peachy Girl
Here’s a simple equation to determine how much water you should be drinking per day:
Your weight * 2/3 (or 0.67) = Your Daily Water Intake
NOW, if you partake in activity where you sweat, add another 12 oz. of water for every 30 minutes of activity to your daily water intake you calculated above.
SO, you may still be wondering why drinking enough water is so important and essential to acne sufferers…and to keep it simple…when your body is properly hydrated, it improves your body’s immune cell response…meaning that your body has a higher likelihood of being able to fight off harmful bacteria like Cutibacterium acnes (AKA acne).
In addition, when your skin is properly hydrated, your skin maintains a healthier pH level…a.k.a “balanced skin”. Balanced skin often does not suffer with excessive oiliness (causes acne) or excessive dryness (causes aging).
SO REMEMBER….DRINK YOUR WATER!
Here’s a great tip if you find drinking enough water everyday a hard or challenging task: BUY A BIG WATER BOTTLE WITH MEASUREMENTS (OZ.) ON THE SIDE OF THE BOTTLE SO YOU CAN SEE YOUR WATER INTAKE. FILL IT WHEN YOU WAKE UP FOR THE DAY & TAKE IT WITH YOU EVERYWHERE

Turmeric is known for its anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties…not to mention it is also documented to have anti-bacterial, anti-neoplastic (anti-cancer), and anti-microbial properties.
Turmerics active ingredient, curcuminoid, fights off skin inflammation. As the curcuminoids treat the inflammation, the human immune system is able to recover and heal itself. We love turmeric because it can help your skin build its defenses to self-heal.

]]>Well, here’s a “tell-tale” sign, if you go to bed with no sign of a pimple and wake up with a pimple…it’s probably because of your pillowcase.
Simply put, your hair products, body lotions, and your natural oils from your hair and body transfer to your pillowcase. Your pillowcase, now riddled with bacteria, makes contact with your face while you sleep and…VOILA…a nice honking pimple forms!
Now, there are many ways to prevent pillowcase acne…so here are a few ideas:
1.) Wear a silk hair bonnet or hair wrap while you sleep. It’s great for the health and shine of your hair & prevents your hair from directly contacting your pillowcase, thus, less chance of pillowcase acne.
2.) Buy seven (7) breathable pillowcases and change them out daily before bed. On laundry day, give them all a good wash. A pro tip: make sure that when you wash your pillowcases you do not use fabric softener or dryer sheets. The wax and residue from these items can easily clog the pores.
3.) Make sure you remove all makeup and grime from the face and follow-up with a great skincare regimen before laying down to bed. This is so important!
4.) A budget friendly option is covering your pillowcase with a clean towel or clean t-shirt nightly before bed. You can just remove it and replace it nightly. It’s simple, effective, and cheap!
We hope this helps you if you’re experiencing acne and are looking for possible solutions to improve it.

]]>What if your acne was actually being caused by what was going on inside of your body instead? What would you do differently to treat your acne?
As the founder of Peachy Girl Pimple Patches, I once struggled with this dilemma. I was so frustrated and depressed and felt like I would just have to let my acne “run its course” until it decided to “clear up on its own” because I was completely dumbfounded as to how I could possibly have acne because I took such good care of my skin. Little did I know, the “healthy foods” I was eating were the main factor behind my acne and many other health ailments I had going on.
]]>As of the founder of Peachy Girl Pimple Patches, I dealt with severe acne for years until I realized that my acne had little to do with my skin regimen (external) and like 90% to do with what I was eating everyday (internal).
Now you may be thinking, “was she laying around eating cookies and cakes and drinking soda all day or something?” The answer would be, “No”.
I followed the recommended food pyramid guide, ate very healthful meals, and worked out 2-3 hours a day, only to realize that I was severely allergic and/or sensitive to A LOT of foods that were considered “healthy”. I learned that I could no longer eat foods containing beef, wheat, gluten, lemon, dairy, etc. Sounds sad right?
However, the exciting news came when my acne cleared up in 2 weeks after over 6 years of having acne at that point.
So, what to take away from this?
Just like working out at the gym and trying to lose weight or bulk up, acne operates very much in the same way. You wont see much improvement if you do not focus on your internal health first!
Maybe you have food allergies & sensitivities like me, or, maybe you don’t eat a healthful diet that’s right for you. I’m not a doctor or a dietician, so, please don’t take what I’m saying as “gospel”, however, I find the diet to be a huge culprit behind acne.
If I had to re-start the treatment methods and steps I took in the past in regards to my acne, I would first go to a doctor and request a food allergy or sensitivity screening.
Check in with your diet...and check in with a doctor! It’s a phenomenal first step to healing your acne from the inside out.
